According to Social Media Today, in January 2026 TikTok added several AI tools for Shop merchants. The AI Fashion Video Maker turns still product images into AI video with voiceovers and music. AI dubbing generates scripts from product details and uses a synthetic version of the merchant's voice with lip sync. List with AI builds product listings, with titles, descriptions and categories, from a photo and a short description. The report gives no figures on how many sellers use them or how well they perform, so neither can we.

If you sell on TikTok Shop and want a quick video from a listing photo with no extra account to manage, the built-in tools are the first thing to try. They are TikTok's own, so they sit inside the platform you are already posting to.

What a separate tool adds

• One consistent creator. A saved AI creator who appears in every video on an account, so the feed reads as one person's.
• Bulk runs. A list of products and accounts rendered in one go, with rooms and opening moves rotating so videos do not repeat.
• A check against the product. Each video compared with your photo for color, print and length before it reaches you.
• Affiliates. TikTok's seller tools are built for sellers listing their own products. Someone promoting other people's products needs a way to make videos without owning the item.

The pushback you should know about

AI videos are now common enough on TikTok Shop to be a story. A July 2026 commentary from beBOLD Digital, relaying a Wall Street Journal report that we could not read directly, describes AI videos flooding Shop and friction between creators, brands and TikTok. It describes TikTok's policy as allowing AI content only when it is used responsibly and transparently. Some brands prefer real creators and say so, which matters if you are promoting their products as an affiliate.
